The Silent Soliloquy

For some reason I can't explain, I know Saint Peter won't call my name.

Strike 1.
A nice friendly lady from one of the law firms I applied to called to tell me there are no more vacancies for internship.
Damnit!
I knew my lazy and procrastinating ways will come back to haunt me. :( Nice friendly lady proceeds to tell me however that I should come back to their firm again if I need a place to do my chambering (a 9 month thingy that all law graduates must do).
Damnit!
I don't wanna chamber! I can't chamber! Gah. Things are not looking bright and shiny. I might go law firm hunting around my area this weekend. I'm quite sure the other 2 firms will be quite full too.
I was thinking of getting a part time job in OU. Before I considered it, mommy and pa kept telling me to get a job. But now that I am keen and serious about getting one, they start harping about the perils of part time jobs like low wages, boring, tiring, long hours.
Damnit!
My parents are so confused.
Anyway, if you are free you should pop over to Malaysia Kini, for some earth shattering news yo! ;)
PS: I just realised today how much I hate radio stations. Disgusting and lurid pop/RnB songs. Any decent song is just played to death by the stations. Don't get me started on the DJs.

I don't want a cycle of recycled revenge, I don't wanna follow Death and all his friends.

Whee!
It feels good to finally get something done. I just finished my CV and sent in off to 3 law firms around the Pusat Bandar Damansara area. :) Wish me luck! I really need to do something, I'm so dead bored. I've been watching crazy amounts of movies and TV shows. For the heck of it I'm gonna list all the TV shows that I have watched so diligently.
Futurama (5 seasons) - Almost done, oh and I watched 2 Futurama movies too already. What can I say, I really love the series. :)
The Office (4 seasons) - Completed! I liked it! Steve Carrell's so damn funny.
Grey's Anatomy (4 seasons) - Completed! Ahh, the scandalous lives of the surgeons in Seattle Grace never fail to entertain me. The whole Derek and Meredith relationship problems are getting old. I want to hear wedding bells on Season 5!
Heroes (2 seasons) - Completed! Season 1 was boring but it gets better! Much better. Damn writers strike caused season 2 to end abruptly. :(
Gossip Girl (1 season) - Completed! Real fluffy stuff to watch, restricted for girls only unless you're really gay or bored. I like fluffy shows, you don't need to think much, Lost totally killed me cause it got too freaking confusing and detailed. The most recent season finale proved me right, it gets too mind boggling. Titi who is a big Lost fan almost pulled his hair out when he saw the season finale. Haha. Plus GG has Ed Westwick who is really hawt. :)
Shows that I am currently watching:
Black Books - Ollie recommend it to me after we watched Run Fatboy Run, which by the way is a pretty good comedy but not as good as Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead, which by the way are both very good British comedy movies. It's a good ol' British comedy involving a bookstore owner. You can watch it off Youtube.
Family Guy - OMG. LOVE. So funny! Did you know Seth Macfarlane, the writer and creator for Family Guy is the highest-paid writer in television history? FOX gave him a 100 million dollar deal. Sweet. Real sweet.
I love it when people make it big or rich in the most unconventional way. My mom was talking to me about Warren Buffet buying his first share (I swear that man and Alan Greenspan are her idols) and I got depressed because I don't know nuts about buying shares and I have no interest whatsoever in this kinda stuff and this would dramatically slim my chances becoming a millionaire. Heh. But look at Macfarlane! Millonaire yo' and all he did was write TV shows. My hero and who knows I might write a TV show next time and all this TV show watching will play off.
Private Practice - A spinoff of Grey's Anatomy featuring Addison who left and went to LA. Ok la, not as scandalous as Grey's. It's aired every Saturday night around 10.45 p.m on NTV7.
Ok! Got to go watch more shows! ;)
G'night!

Lovers in Japan.

I realise I have alot of random pictures saved in my computer. I usually save whatever I find funny.

This one's a favourite:

Oh and this one too:

No mood to blog this past weeks, either too busy or too malas.

Just because I'm losing, doesn't mean I'm lost, doesn't mean I'll stop, doesn't mean I will cross.

Hello 150th post. After 149 mundane and nonsensical posts, the 150th will be no different I assure. I have a incredibley overdue event to blog on, Law Ball 2008.

Venue wise, it was one of the best. It was held in Westin and the hall was small but tastefully decorated which made it feel like a very exclusive event. Had the usual long boring speeches but in addition to that we had long bad boring lawyer jokes thrown in as well. :/
Performances were pretty good too. All in all, a pretty good night.

Group pic with our lecturer, Ms Kat. Lecturers aren't suppose to look better than all their students. :(

Nads! This one's for you! Haha. ;)

Me and Billy/Billy Brown/Billie Jean/Bills/Son. I'm gonna miss him, his deep booming voice and how I have to strain my neck when I talk to him because he's so tall. :(

Me and WL with Ms J, who reminds me of Miranda Bailey.

Me and Jasmine.

WL embracing his womanly side (due to the excellent female company he keeps, mainly me, Michelle, Nads and Ade) with Nads bag.

Last but not least, the best picture of the night:

Hahaha! A real classic.

Life in Technicolor.

Some pariah blasphemous band accused Coldplay of plagiarism.
From prefixmag.com:
In a classic David-and-Goliath scenario, unknown Brooklyn band Creaky Boards have indirectly accused Coldplay of ripping off their song "Vida La Viva" from the Boards' own, ironically entitled "The Songs I Didn't Write." Creaky Boards songwriter Andrew Hoepfner made a YouTube video comparing the tunes, and remarking that his band thought they saw Coldplay singer Chris Martin in attendance at a CMJ gig where they played the song in question.

It seems unlikely that Hoepfner's claim will get much traction. Regardless of the fact that Coldplay
could afford enough lawyers to squash Hoepfner like a bug, the second-biggest band in the world says their diaries place them in England at the time of the Creaky Boards' CMJ gig. And perhaps most importantly, upon close inspection the melodies of the two songs are somewhat similar but nowhere near identical.
Bloody attention seeking morons! May they never have any gigs to perform at. May noone buy their album (if they even have one that is). I hope Coldplay sue their sorry asses for defamation.

I'm just waiting till the shine wears off.

Ahhh.. I am in this state of blissfulness. I feel like I have achieved nirvana after buying a big gorgeous brown bag from Zara. If you ask me meditation is overrated, try retail therapy instead, Buddha would have agreed with me if he lived in this time.
Just a random thought, if something is made out of pig lining, does it mean it's mostly made out of a pig? P.S: my new bag does not have pig lining. I think leather goods are overrated and CRUEL. Imagine if some alien race took over the planet and harvested human skin to make goods. How would you like it eh? I can't think of a better example, plus I've been watching too much Futurama and I personally have always believed that there are extra-terrestrial beings out there. It's only a matter of time people!
Anyhoo, I've been so restless these past few days. I think I'm going to do an internship but I can't be bothered to look for one. Then, there is the dilemma of applying to a law firm or a NGO. If I do it in a law firm I have to find one which is nearby. No freaking way am I gonna take the LRT to KL again at the crack of dawn and standing in it till my legs feel like they're gonna snap. Whiny I know, but really, it's not worth the effort considering how I am gonna suffer the next 10-20 years working. Might as well take it easy now. Chillin' first.
Edit!
In the most randomest ways, I might do an internship after all with minimal effort of searching. I just casually mentioned to Kart I was looking for one and she mentioned her dad's friend is a senior partner of a law firm. She told her dad about it and her dad was so nice to call his friend and she got his contact details for me! Swt. :) But I have to prepare a CV and go for an interview. Oh dang. I suck at interviews.
Editedit.
Oh Tuhan! Aku sudah sedar betapa malas aku sudah menjadi!
Kart sent me her CV so I had a rough idea of how to do mine and hers good! I had to rack my brain so hard to think of what I've done over the past few years. Sigh. At least it's not too late to remedy it. I really need to have a kick ass CV if I want to do my Bar in UK. Cardiff only offers 60 places. :S
List of things to do so I will have a decent CV at the end of the day:
1) Enquire with CIJ for an internship.
2) Call law firm.
3) Call Help to get exam transcipts.
4) Enquire with World Vision in case CIJ does not work out.
Hopefully, putting it down on the blog will motivate me more to get things done. It would be embarassing if people asked me about it and I said I haven't done a thing. :
